The
yearly back-to-school giveaways put on by the Free Town Church of God of
Prophecy in Clarendon has seen the church impacting children in the Free Town,
Sandy Bay, Bodles and Longville Park communities, and this year will be no
different.

The
newly formed Free Town Church of God of Prophecy Outreach Foundation Limited
will be upping the ante by hosting a Health Fair and Back to School Treat on
Friday, August 11, beginning at 10 a.m.
Pastor
Zebulah Aiken says it has always been the desire of the church to make more of
an impact in the various communities, and that was the catalyst for forming the
foundation.
"This
is the first main project since it was officially given the status of a
charitable organisation," she said.
"For
that day, we will be teaming up with the Clarendon Inter-Agency Network to have
select agencies come and assist with the children."
The
foundation is also hoping that through contributions it will be in a position
to offer a few scholarships to children who have done well in their Grade Six
Achievement Test, as well as making the effort to give a contribution to
students who demonstrate a need and are facing financial challenges in high
school.
"It
is for this reason the church is reaching out to the diaspora as well as local
entities to come on board to make the back-to-school event an overwhelming
success. So we welcome contributions of back-to-school supplies or
contributions towards scholarships and snacks to treat the children during the
day," stated Pastor Aiken.
She
also took the opportunity to thank the overseas friends of the church who are
aiding by putting together back-to-school supplies for the children. The
foundation is already hoping to add to its growing numbers of recipients.
There is still time to come on board as we need all the help we can get!

Together We Made It!
It is with heartfelt thanks and deep gratitude that the Free Town Church of God of Prophecy Outreach Foundation extends thanks to each and every individual, company and organisation that assisted in making this year’s children’s treat a total success.
We
could not have done it without all hands and hearts aboard.
The
children enjoyed themselves from start to finish with rides, entertainment,
snacks, meals and it was topped off with some exciting presents.
For
the first time this year we had some fun activities which included bun and
crackers eating contests.
Pastor
Emanuel Azan out of Tennessee and gospel artiste Sister Sasha topped up the
prize for the talent competition by throwing in cash award.
