Another successful staging of health fair and back to school

Despite the numerous challenges, the Free Town Church of God of Prophecy Outreach Foundation hosted its annual Health Fair and Back to School Giveaways.

Over 200 children and adults were impacted those who turned out enjoyed free health care – eye screening and dental care, plus medicals.
Later on in the evening, the children received back to school supplies.
Director of the foundation Rev Dr Zebulah Aiken was overwhelmed by the turnout and the show of support from sponsors who made it possible.

Maica Impact Foundation out of Canada donation of back to school supplies went a long way, as well as Melonie Sterling and Tanya Taylor who are year to year supporters.
“The health fair would not have been possible without the assistance of the Clarendon Health Department and Dr Thompson who ensured the children’s medicals were done,” said Aiken.

“This year was particularly challenging for us and we didn’t receive the kind of sponsorship we needed. Still, the thought of letting them down, saw us digging deep into our resources to make it happen,” she said adding that the church is there to do more share the word. For her, there is nothing more tangible in showing and telling of God’s love than sewing into the lives of those in the communities they serve.

Aiken expressed thanks to those who partnered with the foundation to ensure the event was a success.
The next event for the foundation is the annual children’s treat which will be held on Friday, December 20.
“We hope to get a lot of support so the children can receive a royal treatment,” she said.
